Tuesdays With KJ

Kara looks a little nervous. KJ is checking out the ceiling.....

Yep - my camera paused because right before it flashed KJ looked away.....

It's okay KJ - Gabe means well.....

On Tuesday night our friend Greg brought over KJ. Gabe and Kara just LOVE when she comes over. They brought over our favorite family meal - Pizza of course. The kids played dodge ball (safely of course) and we had a chance to use Gabe's new soccer ball (and net). To wind down (yeah right) Gabe played teacher and gave a great lecture. He made sure the girls raised their hands and used manners before answering his tough questions....very cute.

KJ did NOT want to leave. We miss seeing her and hope that she visits more often.

Edna Boshnakian Bell

Edna was born February 1st, 1923 to Oscar and Takoui Boshnakian. She was a
first generation American / Armenian and was very proud of her heritage. Being
born and growing up in Detroit, she was a graduate of Cass Technical High School
where she majored in Home Economics which eventually steered her toward her
career as an interior designer.

She is survived by her sister Alice, two daughters, Diana and Kathy, Five
Grandchildren Jack, Mark, Dena, Matthew and Michael and Seven Great
Grandchildren, Christian, Ani, Gabriel, Aiden, Mia, Kara and Donald.

Edna leaves behind a family that loves and holds her dear and will miss her
daily. She loved her family and there wasn't anything that she wouldn't do for
them. She was their confidant and their advice giver. Even after she moved to
Florida she still seemed so close. She was always there; in the good times and
in times of sorrow.

She demonstrated strength and was an inspiration to all of her children. She
showed them that if you put your mind to it - you can accomplish anything.

In 1983, at the age of 60 years, Edna realized her dream of owning her own
interior design business in which she sold home furnishings as well as her
knowledge as a consultant.

While living in Florida, Edna had many friends and was active in bowling leagues
and regularly played the game of MahJong. She even enjoyed watching late night
Karate movies with her grandchildren when they would come to visit her and would
welcome the challenge of a scrabble game out on the Lanai. She was also a
gourmet cook and made many meals that her children actually took pictures of -
because they looked too good to eat.

During her many years in Florida she lived life to the fullest and took care of
her self impeccably. She was always ahead of the trend when it came to fashion.
Edna had a unique style about her and once you had met her - you would never
forget her.

During the last few years of Edna's life she was stricken with the awful disease
of Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a disease that robs you and your loved ones long
before leaving this earth. As a consequence to this disease her family watched
her slip away and become a stranger in the body of someone that meant so much to
them. However, a part of her will continue to live on through her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always have a special place in
the hearts of those she left behind.

Today we are grateful for the life of Edna Bell. Forever our Mother - our
Grandmother - our Great Grandmother - our friend.......
Today is her birthday - she would have been 84 years old.
